Black Trail Runners launch Event Partner Scheme
We are excited to launch our new Black Trail Runners Event Partnership scheme for event organisers wanting to take intentional action to increase ethnic diversity in trail running.
In July 2020 Black Trail Runners (BTR) launched with an open letter to event organisers asking them to work with us to address the severe lack of ethnic diversity in trail running.
Since then, we have worked with event organisers who have not only listened but have engaged and worked with us to change the face of trail running for the better, increasing the participation of Black and Brown people participating in their events. This has been a joint effort.
Our community and campaigning charity is led by our members with lived experience, and continues to grow month on month.
We understand the barriers to access that Black and Brown people face in trail running and we know that, in order to continue improving access for historically marginalised ethnic communities, we must work in partnership with race organisers who believe in our mission to increase participation, inclusion and representation on the trails.
Our new tiered partnership scheme will provide event organisers with the tools and support to make their events truly inclusive, offering consultancy, outreach services and an official Black Trail Runners (BTR) affiliation mark of approval.
As a charity we are committed to this and are looking forward to working with those event organisers around the World who are serious about intentional action for a truly representative trail running sector.
Our Event Partner Scheme launches with signed up partners including Centurion Running, Threshold Sports, Maverick Race, Beyond Trails and PEAK DIVIDE
See our partnerships page if you are an event organiser who wants to partner with us to change the face of trail running.
We are stronger together.
